Topic: MyFocus Report Portal 2 0
Stage: Coming Soon
Estimated duration: 785 seconds at approximately 141 words per minute plus scene pauses. Final voice timing requires production review.
Pronunciation: MyFocus = My Focus. HRFocus = H R Focus. Fictional Star Wars examples throughout.

SCENE 01 — A people question, a reusable report
Timeline: 0–28 seconds
On-screen text: Report Portal 2.0 is coming soon
Visual / production direction: Dark title scene. Keep the text in view.
NARRATION
Which teams have annual leave available, and what will their future balances look like? Coming soon, MyFocus Report Portal 2.0 brings the report catalogue and a visual report designer into the same workflow. Follow a practical example from published people and leave sources to a saved report, then see a genuine background result return to the portal.

SCENE 02 — The report catalogue
Timeline: 28–51 seconds
On-screen text: Search the reports your access allows
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Start in Report Portal. Search the catalogue, narrow the list and open the report you need. Saved reports and background results have their own areas. The available catalogue follows your permissions. In this example, Jedi Council reports give us a compact starting point for a leave conversation.

SCENE 03 — Create a New Report
Timeline: 51–74 seconds
On-screen text: A compact header keeps the design in view
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Choose Create a New Report to open the designer. Its compact header keeps the current mode and main actions together, leaving more room for the sources and fields below. We will build a report using the visual designer and preview its actual result before saving it.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 04 — Published data sources
Timeline: 74–98 seconds
On-screen text: A governed starting point for report design
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The source catalogue contains tables and views that an administrator has published for reporting. Choose the relevant people and leave sources. This keeps the starting point understandable and governed. Availability still depends on the configured catalogue and your access, rather than giving every report author unrestricted database access.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 05 — People and leave together
Timeline: 98–121 seconds
On-screen text: Two sources contribute different context
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The people source supplies company, employee, position and department. The leave source supplies leave type, current and future days, and the balance date. Add both sources to the canvas. The report can now combine employee context with the annual leave measures we want to explain.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 06 — Company and employee matches
Timeline: 121–148 seconds
On-screen text: Both keys matter when employee numbers overlap
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Review the join before selecting the result fields. This inner join matches both Company Code and Employee Number. Our example deliberately reuses employee number S W zero zero one across two companies. Matching the employee number alone could combine the wrong records. Both matches keep the six annual leave rows aligned with the correct people.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 07 — The fields readers need
Timeline: 148–171 seconds
On-screen text: Aliases and field order shape the report
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Choose the fields that answer the question. The first part of this report shows Company, Employee, Position and Department. Give the headings meaningful aliases, remove fields that do not help, and reorder the selection. The selected field order becomes the reading order in the result.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 08 — Numbers and dates
Timeline: 171–194 seconds
On-screen text: Days remain numeric and the balance date stays clear
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Add Current days, Future days and Balance date. Use number formatting for the leave measures and date formatting for the snapshot date. Clear headings and consistent formats make the result easier to read. These are the same selected fields that feed the grid and the visualisations.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 09 — Result rows and quick samples
Timeline: 194–220 seconds
On-screen text: Top 25, distinct rows and a 100-row sample
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The designer separates the final result limit from the quick sample size. Here, Top twenty-five limits the result, Distinct removes duplicate result rows, and the quick sample is one hundred rows. All rows is also available when that is appropriate. These controls serve different purposes and should match the question and expected result size.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 10 — Palette, totals and sequence
Timeline: 220–251 seconds
On-screen text: Presentation choices follow the report shape
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The four palettes are H R F blue, Executive, Vibrant and Monochrome. Choose a report palette and decide whether the data or charts should appear first. This detail report uses the Executive palette, no totals and data first. The palette controls report visual colours. The surrounding viewer follows dark mode. Later, the grouped summary will use a different palette, charts first and explicit totals.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 11 — The Annual leave filter
Timeline: 251–277 seconds
On-screen text: A fixed condition keeps the example focused
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Add a fixed filter for Leave type equals Annual leave. This excludes the additional sick leave rows from the result. A fixed condition belongs to the report definition. Runtime prompts are a separate option for reports that need users to enter values each time. This walkthrough uses the fixed annual leave condition.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 12 — Conditional formatting
Timeline: 277–300 seconds
On-screen text: Future days below five receive a blue highlight
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Configure a rule on Future days: values below five receive a blue background. The rule draws attention to a number that deserves a closer look. It does not decide leave eligibility or approve a request. Those decisions remain with the relevant policy and authoritative leave workflow.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 13 — A comparison chart
Timeline: 300–324 seconds
On-screen text: Current days and future days in one visual
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Add a combination chart with Employee as the category. Current days form the primary series and Future days form the second series. Enable the legend and data labels so readers can distinguish the measures. This configuration gives the leave discussion both a present balance and a future comparison.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 14 — The combination chart result
Timeline: 324–349 seconds
On-screen text: Primary columns: Current days. Secondary line: Future days
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Preview the result. The combination chart compares current annual days with future annual days for each colleague. Read the legend alongside the labels. For example, Ahsoka Tano has nine current days and seven future days in this snapshot. The chart shows the report values, rather than predicting a new leave outcome.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 15 — A second chart in the report
Timeline: 349–374 seconds
On-screen text: A horizontal bar chart uses Future days
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
A report can contain more than one configured chart. Add a horizontal bar chart using Employee and Future days. Keep value labels visible and hide the legend when there is only one measure. Each chart has its own title and configuration, even though both use the same filtered report result.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 16 — Future days by employee
Timeline: 374–396 seconds
On-screen text: The second visual answers a narrower question
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The bar chart makes the future balance comparison easy to scan. Han Solo shows one future annual day, while Luke Skywalker shows twenty. These fictional values demonstrate the view. Open the underlying leave information before deciding what action is appropriate for a real person.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 17 — The detail result
Timeline: 396–421 seconds
On-screen text: Employee order, friendly criteria and readable values
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The detail grid shows six annual leave rows in Employee order. The report uses an ascending employee sort, while number and date formats remain visible in the result. Friendly criteria describe the annual leave condition. The blue future-day cell identifies Han Solo's value of one under the rule we configured.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 18 — A grouped summary
Timeline: 421–449 seconds
On-screen text: Group company and department, sum days, count people
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Now create a summary of the same annual leave result. Group by Company and Department, sum Current annual days and Future annual days, and count employees. There is one annual row per company and employee in this example, so counting these rows gives six people. Check that assumption whenever a source can contain multiple rows per person.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 19 — Subtotals and a grand total
Timeline: 449–472 seconds
On-screen text: Totals belong to the grouped report
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Choose subtotals and a grand total for the grouped summary. The company and department grouping defines the total levels. Set charts first when the visual overview should lead the report. These choices belong to this summary definition and can differ from the detail report we built earlier.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 20 — The summary values
Timeline: 472–495 seconds
On-screen text: 79 current days, 67 future days, six people
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The summary totals reconcile to seventy-nine current annual days and sixty-seven future annual days across six people. Jedi has forty-six current and forty future days. Rebel has thirty-three current and twenty-seven future days. The report retains the department detail alongside the company subtotals and the grand total.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 21 — Department share
Timeline: 495–521 seconds
On-screen text: A doughnut chart uses future annual days
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Configure a doughnut chart with Department as the category and Future annual days as its measure. Enable labels and the legend so the slices remain understandable. For this summary, total rows with no department stay out of the chart. That prevents subtotals and the grand total from counting the same balances again.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 22 — The department chart
Timeline: 521–545 seconds
On-screen text: 27, 13 and 27 future days add up to 67
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The department chart shows twenty-seven future annual days for Jedi Academy, thirteen for Jedi Council and twenty-seven for Rebel Alliance. Together, the slices reconcile to sixty-seven. The chart and grid tell the same story at different levels, which helps the reader move from an overview to the supporting values.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 23 — The viewer in dark mode
Timeline: 545–568 seconds
On-screen text: The report keeps its context as you read
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The viewer keeps the report title and friendly criteria close to the result. Its dark canvas, controls and chart labels support the surrounding dark workspace. Use the grid tools to explore the result within your access. The saved definition preserves the report choices that produced this view.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 24 — A named personal report
Timeline: 568–592 seconds
On-screen text: Save the definition for your next visit
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Save the report with a clear title and description. This example uses Personal report visibility. We saved the detail as Jedi Council Leave Explorer and the summary as Jedi Council Leave Summary. Saving the definition gives each report a recognisable place in the portal for the next visit.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 25 — Saved reports
Timeline: 592–616 seconds
On-screen text: The detail and summary remain separate
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Open Saved reports to find the two definitions. Reopening the summary returns its grouped fields, totals and doughnut chart. Reopening the explorer returns its detail fields and two comparison charts. Each saved report retains its own choices, so the reader can return to the appropriate level of detail.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 26 — Configured background execution
Timeline: 616–639 seconds
On-screen text: A report can queue work and return you to the portal
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Some configured reports use background execution. Open Jedi Council Leave Coverage to submit this small report to the native background queue. The portal returns control while the server processes the request. This example uses six fictional rows and demonstrates the workflow without manufacturing a long-running query.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 27 — The queued confirmation
Timeline: 639–662 seconds
On-screen text: The portal confirms the submitted report
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The portal confirms that Jedi Council Leave Coverage was queued and points to Background reports. This is the actual confirmation from the submitted request. You can continue using the portal while the configured background report runs, then return to the background area to check the stored result.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 28 — The completion message
Timeline: 662–687 seconds
On-screen text: A browser toast opens the ready result
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
When the browser checks for completed reports, the ready message names the report and confirms that six rows are available. Select the message to open the result. This is a browser completion notification. It is not an email alert, and the application worker must remain available to execute the background job.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 29 — Background report history
Timeline: 687–712 seconds
On-screen text: Completed results have a place to return to
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Background reports provides the return path when the brief notification has disappeared. The history lists this user's available requests and their status. Open a completed result while it remains within retention and your current permissions allow access. The history gives a more durable entry point than the temporary browser toast.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 30 — The stored report result
Timeline: 712–735 seconds
On-screen text: The six-row result opens from the native workflow
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
Open the completed leave coverage result. The viewer shows the stored six-row output from the background execution. This closes the loop from submission to completion and retrieval. Result availability follows retention and permissions, so the history and viewer remain part of the governed reporting experience.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 31 — Export choices
Timeline: 735–759 seconds
On-screen text: Excel, PDF, Word and image options
Visual / production direction: Show the matching dark product excerpt. Hold still for the controls and labels.
NARRATION
The export dialogue offers Excel, P D F, Word and image output, with choices for the current filtered view or all report rows. The options shown here explain the export workflow. Check the selected output layout for your report before distribution, particularly when charts form part of the document.
Transition: short dissolve to the next scene.

SCENE 32 — Report Portal 2.0 is coming soon
Timeline: 759–785 seconds
On-screen text: A report you can build, save and return to
Visual / production direction: Dark title scene. Keep the text in view.
NARRATION
A useful report starts with a clear question. MyFocus Report Portal 2.0 brings published sources, visual design, saved definitions and background results into a connected reporting workflow. Choose the right fields, explain the values and keep the result within reach. Contact your H R Focus representative to arrange a preview of Report Portal 2.0.
